Director of Operations

Echelon Insights is looking for a Director of Operations to join our team in our Alexandria, Virginia office. The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing a number of core and administrative functions of the company including: human resources, office management, internal company policies and procedures, coordinating with our bookkeeper on accounts payable and receivable, and benefits administration via Gusto.

The ideal candidate will have prior administrative and operations experience working in an office supporting multiple levels of employees. They will have a firm grasp of organization and personnel management and hiring best practices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead our hiring process, from managing job postings, reviewing candidates, conducting and coordinating interviews.
  • Oversee all aspects of HR and benefits administration, such as onboarding and and offboarding for employees, via Gusto.
  • Oversee company policies and procedures such as office calendar, schedule, and maintaining up-to-date employee handbook
  • Coordinate all-staff gatherings such as weekly all-hands meetings and periodic retreats
  • Manage our accounts in tandem with our bookkeeper, ensuring that invoices are sent to clients accurately and in a timely manner, incoming payments from clients are recorded, outgoing payments to vendors are processed, as well as monitoring company budget.
  • Oversee office management tasks such as office maintenance requests, communicating with building management, ensuring adequate stock of supplies, and other in-office team needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience in office administration, human resources, operations, or organizational management
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, accounting, customer service, hiring and talent acquisition, and employee benefits management
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Experience with Gusto preferred
